Code of Conduct

We commit ourselves to ensure a safe and secure environment for all the people of Seychelles by:

  • Serving the community and protecting all persons against illegal acts;
  • Respecting and protecting human dignity and maintain and uphold the human rights of all persons;
  • Use force only when strictly necessary and to the extent required for the performance of our duty;
  • Ensure that matters of confidential nature be kept confidential unless the performance of duty or needs of justice strictly require otherwise;
  • Not inflicting, instigating or tolerating any act of torture or cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment;
  • Ensure the full protection of health of persons in our custody, in particular, and shall take immediate action to secure medical attention whenever required;
  • Refraining from acts of corruption and rigorously oppose and combat such acts;
  • Respecting the law the Code of Conduct to the best of our ability, prevent and rigorously oppose any violation of them.
