SEYCHELLES POLICE FORCE COMMEMORATES WORLD AIDS DAY WITH RECOGNITION AND SOLIDARITY

The Seychelles Police Force proudly joined the global community in commemorating World HIV & AIDS Day yesterday, reaffirming its commitment to health awareness, compassion, and collective responsibility. As part of this important occasion, the Health and Safety Officer of the Force organised a meaningful event at the Central Headquarters to honour the day and promote continued education on HIV prevention, support, and understanding.
The ceremony highlighted the significance of maintaining a healthy workforce and the role of the Police Force in fostering a supportive environment that respects the dignity and well-being of all individuals. Officers were reminded of the importance of awareness, early testing, and maintaining a stigma-free workplace, values that strengthen both the organisation and the communities it serves.
A special segment of the event was dedicated to recognising exemplary officers whose actions demonstrated courage, readiness, and humanitarian spirit. Two officers were honoured for their outstanding act of bravery while on duty, where they successfully performed first aid in a critical situation. Their quick response and dedication to saving lives reflect the highest standards of professional service.
In addition, several officers were acknowledged for their voluntary blood donations, a gesture that embodies generosity and care for the wider community. This recognition underscores the Force’s belief that policing extends beyond law enforcement, embracing acts of service that contribute to public health and national resilience.
The Seychelles Police Force continues to advocate for health education and community engagement, recognising that such initiatives are integral to building a strong, informed, and compassionate society. Through activities like this year’s World AIDS Day commemoration, the organisation reaffirms its commitment to leadership not only in security but also in promoting wellbeing and unity across the nation.
